Review Process/Awards

Review and Selection Process:  Projects will be scored by a review panel consisting of workforce development and education professionals from across Alabama and Tennessee but outside the VIA region. Proposals will be rated against evaluation criteria as detailed in this solicitation.  The ranked scores will serve as the primary basis for selection of applications for funding though other factors (such as urban, rural, and geographic balance; industry balance; the availability of funds, and which proposals are most advantageous to the region) will also be considered.  Proposals scoring below 70 will not be considered for funding. 

Amounts of Awards.  VIA will award up to $1.2 million through this solicitation.  Grant awards will range from $10,000 - $200,000. Awards ranging from $100,000 to $200,000 will be reserved for projects that are regional in scope and serve at least a 3-county area.  Allowable budget categories are listed in the Budget Form.
